What do we mean by muscle function?
The condition commonly known as general and widespread “tiredness” may appear first and foremost in the form of muscle fatigue. This means that the body is losing strength and tone, which makes it extremely tiring to move one or more muscles.
Muscle fatigue may be localised, for example in the arms or legs, or may spread to the whole body. Furthermore, it may also cause pain and aching with every effort, making all movements difficult.
There are a number of causes, starting from insufficient levels of some vitamins (especially B complex) and minerals. Periods of psychological stress may affect the body, as well as particularly intensive sporting activities or long periods of inactivity or convalescence.
The vitamins and minerals contained in the ApportAL® range act on muscle function to restore the ideal levels of strength and energy.
Selenium: Selenium helps the skeletal muscles and cell antioxidants to work correctly. It also helps the body to support the immune system and strength during periods of high stress or mental and physical weakness.
Magnesium: magnesium ensures correct muscle performance. It is also an important antioxidant involved in many of the reactions that take place in the cells, and is therefore indispensable for energy production. But that’s not all: it helps to carry calcium and potassium through the cell membranes, which are fundamental for the transmission of nerve impulses, muscle contraction and heartbeat.
Arginine: Arginine improves the efficiency of the muscles involved in the immune system, ensuring rapid recovery of muscle activity in the case of both prolonged inactivity and sporting performance. Its mechanism of action helps to dilate the blood vessels, thus improving the blood flow and carrying nutrients to the muscles.
Carnitine: Carnitine aids muscle recovery and helps repair damaged muscle tissues. It also helps to fight the onset of fatigue, maintaining high energy levels for prolonged periods during physical activity.
